A building worth over PLN 30 million houses a concert and cinema hall with about 250 seats, the seat of the Municipal Cultural Centre in Łącko, the First-Level Music School, a modern library, a rehearsal hall, a recording studio, and administrative facilities.

Municipal Cultural Centre

The Municipal Cultural Centre in Łącko was established on 30 December 1983. For over 40 years, it has carried out the municipality’s own tasks in the field of cultural activities, supporting regional traditions and the artistic education of residents.

New location

Since February 2024, the Municipal Cultural Centre has been operating in the modern Centre for Culture and Music Education.

Main areas of activity

The Municipal Cultural Centre is responsible for conducting cultural activities in the municipality – from concerts and exhibitions to artistic education and community integration. As part of its socio-cultural activity, the MCC organises occasional events, concerts, and theatre performances, including cyclical events such as the Apple Blossom Festival.

Music education and unique ensembles

The pride of the Municipal Cultural Centre is the Music Circle for the youngest and the Berecik Theatre Group. The MCC also conducts art workshops and other activities.

The largest highlander brass band in Europe

The Tadeusz Moryto Orchestra operates at the Municipal Cultural Centre. It is the largest brass band in Europe performing in traditional highlander costumes. This unique ensemble combines highlander roots with the professionalism of brass music, being a true showcase of the Łącko municipality and the whole Sądecczyzna region.

Modern library and media library

The building of the Centre houses a modern library functioning as a media library with access to digital resources and an internet café. The facility offers book lending, access to e-books, databases, and multimedia. The library organises author meetings, reading contests, and literary workshops. The modern interior of the media library offers both computer stations and a cosy corner for the youngest visitors.  The Municipal Public Library is located on the 2nd floor of the Centre for Culture and Music Education and has three branches:
In Jazowsko – in the Multifunctional Building in Jazowsko (Jazowsko 456, 33-389 Jazowsko)
In Obidza – in the Multifunctional Building in Obidza (Obidza 433, 33-389 Jazowsko)
In Wola Kosnowa – in the Primary School in Zagorzyn (Zagorzyn 172, 33-390 Łącko)

Events and significance for the municipality

The MCC’s calendar of events includes, among others, the Apple Blossom Festival, the Fruit Harvest Festival, the Municipal Day of Culture Activists, Christmas carol concerts, patriotic celebrations, the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity finale, and summer programmes for children.

The Centre also carries out publishing activities, documenting local history, among others, in the Łącko News.
